Features and Favourites at Beef & Liberty

Finding myself naturally gravitating to any and all food events in Hong Kong, I have come to notice a common pattern... Beef & Liberty always seems to make an appearance. Now we all know that the only logical conclusion to draw regarding this coincidence is that either they are extremely persistent or they must be doing something right. And let's say it's definitely the latter. Offering bad ass burgers with everything from your classic (beef, cheese or bacon ) to proper pulled pork and mad tasty veggie burgers (think chickpea and chutney to goats cheese and beets) there really is no going wrong on the burger front. Now when I see burgers, I naturally tend to stick with the essentials... Bacon and cheese. Beef and Liberty serves up a consistently tasty Bacon and Cheese burger that is topped with you guessed it... Bacon and Cheese.

Not a meat eater? Needn't fear, Beef & Liberty serves up a seriously delicious beet and goat cheese burger.

Pump Up The Beet

Despite looking very meaty, this patty is 100% creature free. Now that is not to say that it is dull in any way! This veggie patty is one of the best I have had! Made with shredded beet root, brown rice, kidney beans, cumin, chili and cilantro (coriander) and toppped with MORE beets, goat cheese and greens, this burger is anything but disappointing!

Now among these Beef & Liberty staples they are also serving up some seriously good features this spring! SO on that note, allow me to introduce you to their most recent feature:

'The Curly Pig' Mangalica Pork Burger.

img_3393.jpg

I'm sure you are wondering what the heck is Mangalica? Well, let me tell you it is a highly sought after bred of Hungarian pig that is in fact covered in curly hair (hints the name 'The Curly Pig'), now that is all fine and dandy as long as the rep behind the breed holds up on the taste end... and trust me... It does. Seasoned with ground fennel, garlic, ginger and onion this patty was flavorful and juicy. Topped with apple slaw pickled fennel, lightly dressed mizuna leaves and finished with crispy pancetta, this burger is a definite must!  You can get your paws on this porky patty at any Beef & Liberty location from May 3rd to July 3rd, because trust me, this is one you won't want to miss!

SO dieters, if you haven't been to Beef & Liberty lately or EVER, you should probably make your way over for some killer burgers! Make SURE you try 'The Curly Pig' Mangalica burger before it's gone!

Oh and don't forget! SAVE ROOM FOR DESSERT! We're talking banoffee pie and skillet cookies topped with cream.

Banoffee

With a perfectly crunchy and sweet oat base topped with real bananas (no fakers here),  caramel, whipped cream and crunchy chocolate clusters there is nothing NOT to love here. But seriously... AHhhh-mazing.

Warm Skillet Cookie & Cream

This is just not even fair. Half baked and stuffed with white and dark chocolate every bite of this skillet cookie was a combination of chewy cookie dough and gooey chocolate chunks... Oh and did I mention they POUR WARM CREAM ON TOP?!

With locations in Wan Chai, Stanley and a pop up shop in PMQ /Central (open until the middle of September) theres no reason not to scoot on over to this tasty burger joint!
